Make the recipe
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet.
- Count out 24 whole almonds and set aside.
- Place the remaining almonds, brown sugar, flour, and salt in a food processor.
- Process until the mixture is fairly finely ground.
- Add 2 egg whites and process about 10 seconds, until the mixture comes together in a sticky mass.
- Divide dough in half; with moistened hands, pat each half lengthwise into a strip on the baking sheet.
- Place reserved almonds at 1-inch intervals along each strip.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until crisp and lightly golden; cool, loosen with a spatula, and cut into 24 pieces using the almonds as guides.
