Make the recipe
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook onion and sausage.
- Drain the cooked sausage mixture.
- Combine with applesauce, bread crumbs, and sage.
- Spoon filling into apie crust shell.
- Cover with top crust and seal the edges.
- Cut several slits in the top crust and place on a cookie sheet.
- Bake 40-50 minutes until golden brown.
